Articles of Association - Malta Association Hospitality Executives (Amended by the AGM 05th December 2014)

1. Name

The association shall be known as the Malta Association of Hospitality Executives.

2. Address

The permanent office of the association shall be located at: 181, “Helenette”, Sliema Road, Kappara, San Gwann SGN 4417.

3. Status

The association is a recognised non-profit making association registered in Malta as a voluntary association with the Commissioner of Voluntary Associations.

4. Laws of Governance

The laws of governance shall be the Laws of Malta.

5. Affiliations

The association will look at affiliations with other local and international associations as long as these have similar objectives and goals as our association.

6. Administration

The function of the association shall be carried out by a Board, hereinafter referred to as the Board and which will be an elected committee in accordance to Article 12.

7. Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives governing the association shall be:

a. To promote the status of its members to a Professional Status in the Maltese Islands and assist in developing a European Professional Body to govern all Managerial Professionals working in the industry.

b. Assist its members to further develop and increase their knowledge and industry skills.

c. Interface between Industry, Education and Government bodies.

d. Work to have recognised educational standards in the Hospitality Industry both locally and internationally.

e. Work for a ‘Professional Warrant’ for all Management Employees working in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure industries.

f. Work to establish Certification of Competence for all other employees working in the Hospitality, Travel and Leisure industries.

g. To collaborate with other entities, on a national, regional and international basis in furtherance of such aims.

h. The undertaking of projects and activities connected with the above aims.

8. Membership

Membership is open to all Management Employees working in the Hospitality, Travel and Leisure industries in Malta. All local individual members of the Institute of Hospitality are granted complimentary membership to the association. The association shall yearly ask these IoH members if they wish to remain members of the MAHE or opt out of the association. Members shall have the right to participate in all activities of the association including the right to nominate, stand for and elect members to the Board. By management employees one is referring to any person who is employed in a position of Head of Department or equivalent and higher in the mentioned industries.
